Step five: Pass the Practical Driving Assessment (PDA)

You must be at least 16 years of age to undertake the PDA and must have already passed the HPT.  Alternatively, book your PDA Prep and Test Session through Stay Upright and we will book your WA DOT Motorcycle Practical Driving Assessment (R-N Class) to suit.

The PDA determines your general riding skills, such as your ability to:

  • Balance the vehicle at low speeds by riding around a figure ‘O’ without putting a foot on the ground.
  • Correctly park and start on a hill.
  • Perform a quick stop under full control without locking either wheel.

If you’d like to ensure success and finesse your skills, we offer a number of courses that can help you.
