If you wanna learn motorcycle, just coming for the instructor Jakula
It has been years since I have ridden a bike and I was a bit nervous. I did the ‘Learn to Ride’ course with Perry at the Braeside branch in the beginning of the week and Im so glad I did! Perry was amazing in keeping the lesson light and teaching us and giving us feedback. I definitely recommend taking this course before you do your 2 day permit course as it gives you the basic skills and takes away your nerves if you are nervous.

A couple of days later, I had my 2 day course at the Braeside branch again to get my permit. It was an absolute cracker of a course! Dracula (aka Florin) was so reassuring and all my nerves melted away. He made it fun and there was a lot of laughs while being staunch on safety. He was clear on instructions and his Dracula impressions are spot on! I definitely recommend this course. All the instructors are very encouraging and give you advice on how to be better with your riding skills. If you are a nervous Nelly like I was, this course makes you feel confident. Thank you Stay Upright Braeside for the course and making me feel confident in riding again. I’ll be seeing you guys for the next part of my bike adventure 😊 Much aroha from a new biker girl!

Thanks Tom and Kosta (Instructors) at Braeside VIC StayUpright. You guys have been so supportive through the whole process from the very start until the 'passing of our MLA'. So knowledgable. So kind. So helpful. Our quick story for those interested - My husband and I just passed our 'Motorcycle License Assessment' on Sunday 15th Feb. 2026. We are SO SO stoked. Thanks so much Tom, it was a great morning, and we were both thrilled riding off (into the sunset so to speak) after passing our MLA. We first signed up for the 'Learn to ride' course because we had never been on a bike before. The 'Learn to ride' (optional course) was the first part for us, and it was excellent. From there we decided to complete the 2 day learner course (we passed that and received our 'L' plates. Thanks, Tom & Kosta for being so encouraging, reassuring and helpful over those 2 days.) After almost a year of practicing on the road, we felt comfortable to go for our 'Check Ride' (we successfully passed that), and then we were able to complete the MLA. Thanks again Tom. Amazing!! We’ve just finished the 2-day training course with Luke, and I have to say he’s a wonderful guy. His English is very clear and easy to understand, especially the accent.

During the course, he made it fun and easy to learn. If you didn’t understand something, he was always happy to explain it again and again without any problem.

Overall, a great experience and a perfect place to do your Learner Permit Course. Highly recommend Luke as your instructor.

I had training with Florin (known as “Dracula”) at Stay Upright, and he is an incredibly kind and caring instructor, while also being very serious and precise when it comes to teaching.
In my opinion, he truly loves three things: motorcycles, riding, and his job as an instructor — and you can clearly feel that passion during the training.
Even though I already had a full licence in my home country and only went to convert my licence, he still had a lot to teach me. I learned a great deal from him, and his feedback genuinely improved my riding.
If you want someone who is dedicated, knowledgeable, and truly invested in making you a better rider, Florin is an excellent instructor.

I did my 2 day learner course here. Alan was my teacher and I had an awesome time. He was super thorough, careful with instructions and kept the energy always light and fun. I felt very welcome and never felt rushed to understand the new concepts. The other coaches around were also very supportive and encouraging. I had a great time and successfully passed! Thank you 🙂

Fuel prices are rising

Your car is costing you more than you think
Fuel pump hose

With fuel prices continuing to climb, thousands of Australians are making the switch to motorcycles — and it's not hard to see why. Bikes use a fraction of the fuel a car does, and the savings don't stop there. Lower registration costs, cheaper insurance, and free or discounted parking add up fast. A motorcycle licence could be one of the smartest financial moves you make this year.
