Learner & Provisional Rider Licence Training and Assessment Scheme
Stay Upright runs the training and skills testing on behalf of the NSW Government.
The first step is to obtain your NSW Learner Rider Licence. You do this by completing the seven hour Pre-Learner course with Stay Upright. The course runs over two 3.5 hour session, usually on consecutive days and is open to all NSW residents over the age of 16 years and 6 months.
Your Learner Licence is valid for 12 months and after you have held it for at least 3 months you can undertake your Pre-Provisional training and testing. This involves a full day of training followed by a short riding (skills) test.
Stay Upright has two training centres in the Sydney area – Clyde and Rouse Hill, as well as our regional centres at Bathurst, Queanbeyan and Wagga Wagga.

To book your Pre-Learner course, contact the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) on 132213 and let them know which training centre you would like to attend or visit www.myrta.com and go to “Book a Test”.
